Beirut, Lebanon - September 2025 -

One of Beirut’s most iconic hotels and a Leading Hotel of the World (LHW) is set to welcome the world once again soon. Le Gray Beirut, the city’s emblem of luxury, culture, and sophistication, is reopening its doors, marking a new chapter for a destination that has long been more than a hotel, but rather, the city’s heart and home.

For years, Le Gray stood tall as a beacon of Downtown Beirut, a stage where ideas flourished in conferences, where spa rituals offered calm amid the city’s hustle and bustle, and where moments, both grand and intimate, became treasured memories. It was the backdrop to sunset cocktails over the rooftops, lively dinners with friends, quiet coffees that lingered into the night, and the joyous reunions of the Lebanese diaspora returning home.

Beyond its exceptional service, Le Gray has always been a living gallery, home to over 600 curated works of art from around the globe, exhibited across its rooms and spaces. Set at the gateway to Beirut, it stands surrounded by history, charm, and everything that makes the city unforgettable.

Now, Le Gray reopens with 104 redesigned rooms and suites, envisioned under the artistic direction of renowned Lebanese architect Galal Mahmoud. Known for his human- centered approach and sensitivity to cultural identity, Mahmoud has infused every space with the emotional and aesthetic essence of Beirut, blending timeless elegance with contemporary sophistication.

And there is more, the reopening also heralds a new era for Le Gray’s culinary experience with the homecoming of Michelin-starred Chef Alan Geaam, the only Lebanese chef to hold this distinction. After 27 years in France, Geaam returns to Lebanon with a mission to place the country firmly on the region’s gastronomic map.

“It is with great emotion that I return to Lebanon. Le Gray is the reason behind this return – we share the same values, and our mission is to put a soul in every plate,” said Chef Geaam.

“I aim to honor Lebanon’s culinary heritage while empowering local talent to grow, learn, and thrive.”

For Charles Akl, General Manager of Le Gray Beirut, the reopening is far more than a business milestone:

“It’s a return to life and a reaffirmation of our commitment to Beirut. We have rebuilt with pride, purpose, and passion, not only for our guests, but for our capital. Le Gray stands once again as a symbol of legacy, and we look forward to welcoming the world back to the heart of Beirut.”

With its blend of art, architecture, gastronomy, and hospitality, Le Gray’s return signals a renewed promise: Beirut is ready to inspire the world once more.
